World of Warcraft: Shadowlands - How to Get Redeemed Souls

Redeemed Souls are required for Covenant Sanctum upgrades in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, and this guide details how to earn them.

Players that want to upgrade their Covenant Sanctums in World of Warcraft 's Shadowlands expansion are going to need to obtain two primary currencies in relatively large quantities. One of those currencies is called Redeemed Souls, and some fans may be curious about exactly how to go about earning it. Fortunately, it is quite easy to acquire Redeemed Souls inWorld of Warcraft, though players will not be able to farm it without any restriction.

To begin, fans will earn their first five Redeemed Souls after choosing their Shadowlands Covenant and completing the first chapter of its campaign. This chapter will conclude with a quest called Hopeful News, and players will ultimately be instructed to spend one Redeemed Soul as they continue along the storyline. That said, fans will not earn any more Redeemed Souls while working on their Covenant's campaign, and they will instead need to turn to a weekly quest called Return Lost Souls.

The Return Lost Souls weekly quest sends WoWplayers to rescue souls from the Maw, and it will become available for the first time on Tuesday, December 1. Initially, fans will only be able to earn five Redeemed Souls per week through completion of this quest, though that limit can be increased by upgrading a Covenant's Soulkeeper. To do this, players will need to focus on increasing their Renown, and Soulkeeper upgrades will come at Renown levels 15, 24, and 32.

For the uninitiated, Renown in Shadowlands is earned through Convent campaigns and two weekly quests, one of which is the aforementioned Return Lost Souls quest. As with Redeemed Souls, the amount of Renown that can be obtained each week is capped, which means that reaching the levels required for Soulkeeper upgrades will take quite some time. Even still, players that want to expedite their Redeemed Soul acquisition as well as their Covent Sanctum upgrades should not neglect the grind for Renown.

While some fans may be slightly irritated to learn that the weekly cap on Redeemed Souls is so low in the preliminary stages of the endgame, it is worth mentioning that the Covenant Sanctum upgrade system is intended to extend for the entirety of this new World of Warcraftexpansion. As such, it is not extremely surprising to see that it is setup to prevent players from getting their final upgrades very quickly. Indeed, fans that wish to fully upgrade their Covenant Sanctums will need to put some sustained effort toward that goal.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
